Uniforms

Pack 887 Uniform Guide.jpg

Uniforms are important for our Cub Scouts and our leaders. Wearing the BSA's official "Field Uniform", also commonly known as a "Class A" uniform, is a way for Cub Scouts to show their pack pride and display awards and ranks they earn. With the uniform, your Scout will proudly display adventure belt loops, earned rank emblems, and other awards.

Parents/guardians must purchase the required uniform and attach the emblems, badges and patches. An age-appropriate rank handbook is also required.

Uniform Shopping List:

  1. Short sleeve Cub Scout Shirt

  2. Den hat

  3. Den numerals

  4. Council shoulder patch

  5. World Scouting Crest

  6. Cub Scout web belt

  7. Slide for neckerchief

  8. Den handbook

The pack will provide each Scout the following upon signing up:

  1. Pack numerals

  2. Neckerchief

You may purchase your Scout's Class-A uniform and handbook at Naperville or St. Charles Scout Shops. You can also check our Pack 887 Donate & Trade Thread on our Facebook page.

Pack 887 Class B Shirt

The Class B shirt is an optional t-shirt that Pack 887 orders with a custom design. Class B t-shirts do not replace a regular Class A uniform, but they do come in handy for certain occasions like summer camp.

When specifically instructed to do so by den and pack leaders, Scouts may wear their Class B's for camp outs, hikes, overnights, or other pack events. They're great for times when we want the boys to look like Scouts, but are afraid that they'll loose or damage their uniforms with rough play and adventure.

Contact your den leader or pack leader to order your Class B's.

Brag Vest

The red Brag Vest is optional but highly recommended. When your Scout participates in pack events, he or she will earn a patch or participation segments. These patches can be displayed on the Brag Vest and worn proudly. The vest can be purchased at the Scout Shop.

Communication

There are many ways we stay connected with our pack families:

  • Scoutbook

This is a web-based subscription service we use to record our Scout’s advancement along the Cub Scout trail. Parents can also enter advancements completed at home, hiking miles, camping, and community service hours. As a new pack parent/guardian, you will be invited, via email, to connect with Pack 887’s Scoutbook. Be sure to check your spam and junk folder if the invite is not your inbox.

  • Pack 887 Website

The website has very useful information for the pack. Contains basic information, pack events, schedules, calendars, resources, and pack photos.

  • Pack 887 Facebook Page

Stay updated with pack news and events on our social media page. Be sure to like and follow our page to get notifications.

  • Email

The leaders will communicate information to dens and packs through email mostly via Scoutbook.
