Feed My Starving Children

Doing service projects together is one way we Cub Scouts keep our promise “to help other people.” While we should do our best to help other people every day, a group service project is a bigger way to help people. Join us this September at Feed My Starving Children in Aurora to hand-pack nutritious meals for hungry children all over the world.

We have a limited amount of slots available. We are inviting all Scouts and one parent from each family to sign up. If we need more volunteers closer to the date, I will send another email inviting other family members to sign up.

WHO: Pack 887 Scouts and Parent
WHERE: Feed My Starving Children, 555 Exchange Ct, Aurora, IL 60504
WHEN: Saturday, September 17, 2022 @ 2-4pm

RSVP by the evening of September 9th. If more volunteers are needed after the 9th, I will send another email the next day inviting other members of your families to join.

FMSC Volunteer Policies:
*Please follow this student-to-adult ratio:
For safety reasons, children under the age of 5 are not allowed in our packing area (sorry, no exceptions)
Grades K-2: 1 student to 1 adult*
Grades 3-6: 3 students to 1 adult
Grades 7-12: 4 students to 1 adult
*To comply with FDA requirements and remove all opportunity for foreign objects to fall into our life-saving meals (which could cause choking, tooth breakage and more), FMSC volunteers must remove all jewelry and/or accessories before packing.
*It is advised that volunteers with food allergies exercise caution when determining whether or not to participate in food packing. FMSC can provide a complete list of ingredients in their food products, but they cannot guarantee the environments where ingredients are manufactured. Volunteers with extreme food allergies or allergies to any of the listed ingredients are advised not to pack.

Hope to see you all there! A Scout is Helpful!

The parade route, participant information, and other parade-related info are listed on the following website:

Looking forward to a great turnout! This parade is smaller than it has been in past years and we have been chosen as one of the groups to participate in the parade. So let us DO OUR BEST and remember the Scout Oath and Scout Law as we march in this parade to honor the U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the United States armed forces. We are here to say thank you and pay tribute to the brave men and women that have served our country, especially those that made the ultimate sacrifice.

Hope to see you all there! If you will be marching with another group or watching from the sidelines, find us and give us a wave! We would love to see our family and friends in the crowd!
